DSG TRansition Bootcamp
The Transition Bootcamp Program was developed in response to parents requests for support during the middle school/ high school years' critical transition time. Below are the links to the session presented during the 2012-13 School year.
- Transition Bootcamp Session One: The Nitty Gritty - focuses on an overview of transition, developing self advocacy and the IEP transition plan.
- Transition Bootcamp Session 2: What Happens After the Bus Stops Coming - Work Options, Post-Secondary Education, Volunteer and Work Opportunities, Day Programs, Break-Out Sessions and Provider Fair with Relevant supports and services
- Transition Bootcamp Session 3: Moving Towards Independence - Moving out and living independently. Focus on discussion of living arrangements, pros & cons of living options, and types of living arrangements.
- Transition Bootcamp Session 4: Building a Social World - Person centered planning, paid and unpaid supports. Dating, sexuality and relationships. Provider fair for social, recreational and leisure opportunities.
