If you havent filled that out, you need to fill it out and then we can get you going in the STARS portion of the app.
3. Join our Facebook Group: Search for "DSG of KC STARS Program" and ask to join. You will be approved ONLY if you are a parent to a teen in the program.
4. Click on the links to events below and sign up for events your teen would like. IMPORTANT: If it is your first time in STARS you must attend an event at DSG first so we can get to know you! So make sure your first event you sign up for is at DSG.

Job Skills with the Kauffman Center and Sensory Friendly Nutcracker
Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts: 1601 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108
LIMITED SPACE: Teens will have the opportunity to work alongside the Kauffman Center Ushers, Greeters, Bag Checkers, etc. and learn some job skills in the Performing Arts field. After their work is done, they will get to watch a Sensory Friendly version of the Nutcracker. This is a special performance where teens will be able to get up during the performance, use a cell phone if needed, the lighting will not be dimmed all the way, etc. The KC Ballet School enjoyed their visit with our teens so much, that they are excited to share this opportunity with us. Teens participating in the job experience will get $10 off the price of their ticket thanks to DSG. Teens wishing to just attend the performance and not participate in the job experience will need to pay the discounted price from the KC Ballet, along with any parents wishing to attend ($25). This is a family event. We encourage you to bring immediate family members or other STARS friends with your family. The Kauffman Center recommends that no one under the age of 5 attend the show as this typically is not something young children care to sit through. Teens are the only ones doing the job experience. A parent may be asked to shadow their teen for this portion of the evening, but keep a safe distance to insure independence with the Kauffman staff. DSG will not have volunteers for this event. You will need to pay to park ($10), dress up for the event, and be there early for the job experience part. Those details are coming soon. Further questions should be directed towards firstname.lastname@example.org
