Does my family member need a guardian?

TransitionAdult.jpgOne of the critical issues facing parents, siblings or other concerned family members of an adult who has Down syndrome is how to best assist and protect him or her when it comes to making legal, financial and medical decisions. View some helpful resources on this topic here.

The Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide support and resources for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the professionals who serve them. DSG seeks to provide the entire community with information and education to broaden awareness and foster positive attitudes regarding people with Down syndrome.

DSG invites you to learn more about Down syndrome, our programs and services and to get involved. DSG is an organization that supports self-advocates, families, educators and healthcare professionals. Be sure to review our 2013 Annual Report, Connections Newsletter and our 2012 Brochure.  We invite you to consider being a DSG volunteer by reviewing opportunities and events our current Volunteer Voice E-blast.

The true mark of an organization like DSG is its ability to consistently move forward, instituting necessary adjustments to the ever changing needs of our members.  We invite you to consider making a $30 donation to honor our 30 years of service.  Donations may be made online or by check with 30th anniversary in the memo line.

2014 Book Bundles

2014 Book Bundle Flyer_Page_2.jpgMany libraries, schools and hospitals have inaccurate and outdated resources on Down syndrome— or worse, don’t have any information at all.  Purchased separately, the bundle would cost $107.00 plus shipping and handling. DSG believes in this important program so we are offering our members a greatly reduced price of $35.00 per bundle.  Order yours ONLINE today!
