Practical Solutions for Adapting Curriculum seminars are designed to help educators understand how to perform modifcations and accommodations to help their students with Down syndrome and other disabilities acces the curriculum. This educator led interactive session will provide attendees with an overview of the nine types of adaptations and over 50 samples of how to adapt curriculum for students from kindergarten through 8th grade. Please join us at one of the two identical sesssions listed below so DSG can help enhance your tool kit for meeting your student's unique learning needs.

Practical Solutions for Educating Students With Down Syndrome seminars are back by popular demand! Over 5,000 parents and educators have attended sessions across the country during the last four years. DSG offers this FREE TRAINING to Kansas City parents and educators to help you understand how to successfully engage, instruct and enjoy your student with Down syndrome. Trainings are open to educators, parents, service providers and other interested parties. A variety of topics relevant for preschoolers through 8th graders will be covered such as: Behavioral supports, curriculum adaptations, communication issues, parent/school relations, health/medical issues and available community resources.

 2010 Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action Conference

DSG will host the AIA Conference in Kansas City, Missouri March 18-21, 2010.  AIA is a Down syndrome parent group leadership conference designed to enhance local affilaites and provide opportunities for networking, resource sharing and collaboration to advance the Down syndrome movement.  Executive directors and board members of parent groups are encouraged to attend to learn best practices which will enhance their organizations and service delivery to their members.  Please visit www.dsaia.org to learn more about the conference.
