The Learning Program (TLP) was created to bridge the gap between research and practice. Although researchers continue to discover more about how people with Down syndrome learn, their insight has been slow to filter to parents and teachers. The program focuses on parents as first-teachers for their children, bringing the fruits of research into practice. Knowledgeable parents can work more effectively with their children and give them a jump-start on education. The program also prepares parents to serve as capable advocates for their children in the educational process.
Classes will be held the second Saturday of each month from 9AM - 10:30 AM and 11:00AM - 12:30PM There is a $200 enrollment fee to participate and we can serve 15 children with Down syndrome between the ages of 4-6 years of age. Session participation is available on a first come, first serve basis. contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request a Learning Program application.
